There is something about African Print and Lace combo in a dress. There is this sophistication about the look. African Print fabric is described as exotic that gives this bold colourful style, while lace is a tender girly fabric. So its understandable to agree that African Print and Lace can give you the sophisticated style you want.

The Ziva Dress is a classic example; simple dress with the ability to be a head turner at an event.

The shoulder detail on the Gaia Dress is simply gorgeous and I do have a soft spot for mini dresses 😉😎. I like simple, yet intriguing styles.

I know I should be focusing on the Piper Dress, but all I am thinking of are the outfits to slay with that chain bag the model has on…. 😩Swooning over!

The Piper Dress, everyone needs dresses that accentuate their figure. Even better when done by lace details 😉.

Boots In Summer?

Summer is generally a warm season to rock slippers, sandals, slippons, trainers, converse you name it. Basically comfortable shoes or ridiculously heeled fancy footwear for parties. I would like to think the summer fashion emphasis is on showing skin. Which brings me to respond to the title of this post, boots in summer?

Not everyone is from a location that has extremely warm summers. I am from North East Scotland and I can tell you, an extremely warm summer is a privilege to us. At 20 degrees, the north sea breeze makes the temperature feel like 5 degrees.

So Yes, I wear boots in summer but mostly without tights and not fleece boots. I love boots that is why its a fashion statement for me in Summer, ankle boots work pretty well in any season compared to knee high boots. Just make sure the weather is conducive and you look fabulous unless you risk looking ridiculous or burn up 😉😎.

African Print Style in Winter

I noticed that people ditch their African Print clothes or should I say there are less African Inspired Fashion trend setters during the cold months. This really shouldn’t be the case.

Most African Print styles are cotton fabric and aren’t cold resistant. That said, there are lots of ways to use “summer” declared  clothes in Winter.

Due to the boldness of the African Print fabric, a good way to rock your print during the cold months is wearing it as a sort of accessory. I know, you are wondering what I mean by that.

This whole outfit can stand alone with out the African Print mini skirt from FOLKSHELF.com. But without the skirt, this style completely looses the edge that makes it fascinating. This is what accessorising your African Print clothes in the cold months look like.

3 Things you should have taken away from fashion week by The Mode Queen

Summer hasn’t even started and I feel to fast forward to September to embody some of the looks from the Aw17 collections displayed at Fashion Week. From New York to Paris currently, the collections displayed this season have been of exceptional quality. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt so inspired by the catwalks, […]

Are Girls born ‘Bitchy’?

This is an old post by me on another blog site. This topic seemed to cause some controversy. I am curious to know what people have to say.

Xpression

A male friend of mine said he’s glad to be a boy because  guys are ‘mostly’ challenged by their peers for foolish behaviour BUT girls get support for whatever they do, be it good or bad, smart or stupid. Many other guys concurred and supported this point saying “girls thrive in their stupity or ‘bitchyness’ “.

I am female and won’t disagree completely with some of the perceptions guys have about girls because they speak from one or two actions they’ve experienced or watched on tv. But the fact that there are all these words abt females misbehaving and almost no words to describe the guy who began this whole mess gets me so upset. The only word used on a stupid guy is ‘jerk’. Seriously?

When a girl gets pregnant have u forgotten who is blamed? The freaking girl, like she jumped on herself and implanted the sperm. Even…

Strength Of A Woman

PS: I didn’t write this but it’s too beautiful not to share!

*WOMAN*. . . . . . . . .

When God created woman he was working late on the 6th day…….

An angel came by and asked.” Why spend so much time on her?”

The lord answered. “Have you seen all the specifications I have to meet to shape her?”

●She must function on all kinds of situations.

●She must be able to embrace several kids at the same time.

●Have a hug that can heal anything from a bruised knee to a broken heart.

●She must do all this with only two hands.

●She cures herself when sick and can work 18 hours a day.

THE ANGEL was impressed” Just two hands…..impossible!

And this is the standard model?”

The Angel came closer and touched the woman.

“But you have made her so soft, Lord”.

“She is soft”, said the Lord,

“But I have made her strong. You can’t imagine what she can endure and overcome”

“Can she think?” The Angel asked…

The Lord answered. “Not only can she think, she can reason and negotiate”.

The Angel touched her cheeks….

“Lord, it seems this creation is leaking! You have put too many burdens on her”.

“She is not leaking…it is a tear”. The Lord corrected the Angel…

“What’s it for?” Asked the Angel….. .

The Lord said. “Tears are her way of expressing her grief, her doubts, her love, her loneliness, her suffering and her pride.”…

This made a big impression on the Angel,

“Lord, you are a genius. You thought of everything.

A woman is indeed marvellous”

Lord said .”Indeed she is.

■She has strength that amazes a man.

■She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens.

■She holds happiness, love and opinions.

■She smiles when she feels like screaming.

■She sings when she feels like crying, cries when happy and laughs when afraid.

■She fights for what she believes in.

■Her love is unconditional.

■Her heart is broken when a next-of-kin or a friend dies but she finds strength to get on with life”

The Angel asked: So she is a perfect being?

The lord replied: No. She has just one drawback.

“She often forgets what she is worth”.

*Being a woman is priceless*
